Expedition Everest is a roller coaster in the Asia Land of Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. The theme is around a Yeti protecting the Forbidden Mountain next to Mount Everest. It features a regular stand-by line, a FastPass+ line, and a single-rider line option. This Fastpass+ option is a popular one, so you'll want to make sure you grab it as soon as you can, but it's not quite as hard to get as Avatar Flight of Passage or Na'vi River Journey now.
The queue for this coaster starts at the office of the fictional "Himalayan Escapes" travel agency and progresses to a replica temple, tea garden, expedition equipment room, and a Yeti museum complete with a molding of a Yeti footprint. Keep in mind, you can save a lot of time by splitting your party up and using the single-rider line, however, the single-rider line skips all of those exhibits that help tell the story of the ride. During this coaster ride, you'll speed through icy peaks while avoiding the clutches of the mythic Yeti. You'll even come across a broken and twisted track that appears in front of you (torn up by the Yeti of course!) and will need to brace yourself as you plummet backward into total darkness. While you're inside the cavern, the mythical tale comes true as you see the shadow of a massive, growling beast!
I absolutely love this ride for its thrill level. With that being said, if you'll have children with you, I recommend watching this great ride-through video by Coaster Force below to help guide you in your decision of experiencing this attraction or not.
Important Ride Information: The height requirement is 44'', and children under 7 must be accompanied by someone age 14 or older. Accessibility: Must transfer from wheelchair or EVC to ride. There is a special ride vehicle that accommodates wheelchair transfers much easier than the other cars. Due to the nature of the experience, service animals are not permitted on this attraction. The seating and restraints on this attraction may prohibit guests of certain body shapes or sizes from riding. WARNING! For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride.
