One of my favorite places to recommend visiting during a Walt Disney World® Resort vacation is Disney Springs™. It is the perfect location to spend an arrival or departure day if there is time in your schedule, or on a non-park day where you can spend hours upon hours enjoying an abundant variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. There is no admission fee to walk around, and parking is complimentary if you are traveling by car. Disney Springs has four distinct areas of fun to explore. They are Marketplace, The Landing, West Side, and Town Center.
Marketplace
This is considered the most family-friendly of the four areas and is home to many of the most popular shops including World of Disney and The LEGO® Store. You'll also find fully-immersive virtual reality experiences at The Void, a charming Venetian carousel or child-size train ride for little ones at just $3 admission per person, and live performances throughout the day.
The Landing
This area is where you'll find several restaurants with beautiful waterfront views, many different live musical performances, unique boutiques, pop-up shops, and experiences. Looking for a post-meal adventure? For $125 (accommodates up to 3-4 people) you can take a 20-minute guided tour on the waters of Lake Buena Vista while riding in a vintage Amphicar—a rare amphibious vehicle that can drive on land and float on water. Even if you don’t take a ride yourself, t's still a fun experience to watch others take off and wave as they go!
West Side
This area has a more industrial feel and includes several popular restaurants, shops, and entertainment offerings including a bowling alley and movie theater. Here you can enjoy interactive NBA experiences (a 1-Day ticket is $34 + tax for ages 10 and up), more live music, food trucks, the Aerophile helium balloon ride ($20 for ages 10 and up, $15 ages 3-9), and even a special Cirque du Soleil show coming soon!
Town Center
If you love to shop (including "window" shopping!) you'll be thrilled to stroll through this gorgeous area of Spanish revival architecture and landscaping, as well as some of the most recognizable names in upscale retail. You can also find some dining options and live music here!
